100 Miles an Hour,,

Posted by: MidwestMom   in Children, Family, Family Life, Moms, Writing, food

So Danielle came up to me telling me that she was starving so I made her favorite Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly sandwich with no crust.. After she devoured her lunch she got out her jump rope which she has been practicing how to use it on a daily basis, If she can’t find it she will use what ever she can find, ie.. Vacuum cleaner hose, my scarf. Anyways  My mother had called to inquire about the new 2010 calendar that she made just for Danielle, As I called her over to talk to Grandma, Danielle was out of breath,I had the phone on speaker  and My Mother asked Danielle why she was so out of breath to which she said “ I have been jump roping 100 miles an hour for 20 days”… I love how my 5 year views the concept of time :-) ..

Artist in Training

Posted by: MidwestMom   in BearManCartoons, Children, HowSweetItIs, Writing

As most of you know my 9 year son Michael loves to doodle, draw etc I have read on many of your sites about  tablets to draw on such as Bamboo  and the Wacom as mentioned HERE by Jynksie and Bearman. Anyways I have done some  research on tablets but I prefer to get my information from an experts point of view. So if any of you Webcomic artists  have any input please do so. This would be for someone who is new to a tablet and something that would be easy to use for a first timer. I appreciate any comments or suggestions that you have. Thank you :-)

Crappy Customer Service

Posted by: MidwestMom   in Blogging, Children, Family, Writing

I have experienced crappy customer service before but this one takes the cake. Earlier today I took the Midwestmom Kidlets  for a haircut  to the same place that we have frequented for the past  three  years. My oldest daughter went first and  just as the lady was just about done , The owner  asked who was next  which was my youngest daughter, This is when all hell broke loose . The Witch I mean the owner blurted out  to my daughter and my self and in front of ten other people waiting to receive service “ I’m not cutting her hair  it takes too long and you are just too lazy to take care of her hair and then come her expecting us to comb and cut it” Okay for 1. My youngest daughter has thick curly hair ( think Shirley Temple) and 2. We Comb her hair on a daily basis and 3. Who the hell does she think she is calling me lazy if any one is lazy it is her and 4. There are no signs stating they have the right to refuse service . Now I could see the Witch owner refusing service if  my daughter had lice or some sort of skin condition but she does not fall under any of those circumstances. So we went to another Salon and they were more than happy to accommodate us . Also  I wrote a letter of complaint to the State Cosmetology Board

The Gift of Giving

Posted by: MidwestMom   in Blogging, Cape Girardeau Missouri, Children, Events, Family, Family Life

I have taught my Children that it is always better to give than receive ,   When my oldest was five and in Kindergarten now eleven  and in Middle School, She took upon her self with no encouragement from me or her father  that she wanted to do something special at   Christmas time for  the firemen/firewomen that just visited her school, She took her earnings from  her good   grades and we went to the store to purchase stuff to make cookies with, Moved by her generosity  I included other items  to help fill a small wicker basket. We made the cookies and then filled up the basket  with the other goodies and went to the Fire station near our home in Florida   She went up to the door grinning from ear to ear as she presented her gift to them, Now  6 years later  that tradition still continues,  My youngest daughter “Cheezin” with Missouri’s’ finest:-)Christmas with firemen 002

Master Electrician got a new phone toy for an early Christmas gift, Which is really nice it is a touch phone and you can flip it  too take a picture like you would with a digital camera and the feature is just the bomb, so anyways Attila the Honey aka Danielle was upset because we caught her off guard while taking a picture, and this is the end result.Photo0003 (2)
