Tips for Writers Series: Textbroker

Textbroker is currently my favorite place to write for. It is a writing site for novice writers and professionals alike. Textbroker places writers on a scale, according to their experience and skill. A 2 star rating indicates proficient, a 3 star is good and a 4 star is excellent. 5 stars are reserved for professionals only. Nearly everyone begins at a 3 star level and can move up quickly to a 4 by producing quality articles. However, it is also possible to move down, depending on the quality of your work.

There are hundreds, sometimes thousands of available articles open to claim and be written by authors. The 2 star articles pay the least and the 5 stars pay the most. Be aware that you will be a ghostwriter if you work at Textbroker, meaning your name is not attached to your work. The client buys your work and are then allowed to do whatever they want with it, such as placing on their site, tweaking to their liking or selling to other customers.  I laugh sometimes when I read the outrageous articles some clients want written and am glad my name will never be attached to that article! LOL

You can cash out your earnings at Textbroker twice a month, in which you will be paid via Paypal. Each of your articles are rated by the editors and some are given written feedback.

Reasons I like Textbroker:

There is never a shortage of articles to be written.

I am rated at 4 stars.

I am able to get paid twice a month from them, which really helps with bills.

The editors at TB are reasonable and not as strict as some other content sites.

Applying for TB is an easy process.

I have never had an article rejected on TB, and most other writers I know report the same.

Article titles are always changing, meaning if I don’t see anything I want to claim right now, in a couple hours there might be something better, and most of the time, there is!

It is, for the most part, a laid-back site where you can rack up the $ using your writing skills.

Good luck! (PS- You have to be a US resident to qualify.)

Since I'm always rambling about one subject or another, I signed up for this yesterday. I just have to write my intro article, and then it's on! Thanks for the heads up! My wife's even thinking of signing up.

How exciting! Good luck. I can already see you'll move up to a 4* quickly, because of how you write. Oh, by the way. I'm not sure what happened with me but I think I never even wrote my intro! I said “one day, one day” and that day never came and over and over on the forums I'd see people saying to sign up for TB. Well I finally gave in and said “OK, I'm gonna go write my test piece” even though I applied so long ago. Turns out they already put me at a 3! I wonder if I just forgot I did the intro or they just bypassed it because it had been so long. Who knows.
